Daniel Maldonado is a Cinematographer and Director based in Orlando, FL and working everywhere.
He shot the feature Sled Soldiers and the television pilot Trainwreck Takeover, and has directed music videos since 2012 — including a seven-video run with recording artist Carolyn Marie and recent work for Autumn Rae Shannon.
A native of New York City, he began making short films in high school and drew the attention of local television studios in the Tri-State area. He worked as a production assistant on commercials during college, then moved into directing.
He built his craft in the camera and lighting departments — gaffer and key grip for Fortune 500 companies and international brands, camera operator on nothing,nowhere.’s “fake friend” — before moving up to cinematographer. His cinematography has been featured by Victoria’s Secret and Maybelline, and his work spans Paramount Global, Warner Bros. Discovery, WWE and Sephora.
He is an FAA Part 107 certified remote pilot and flies his own aerial unit, so a production can book ground and air from one person rather than coordinating a separate drone vendor. Registered aircraft, Remote ID compliant, LAANC authorized.
